Iskar introduces adjustable knife face milling cutter

Recently, Iska introduced the adjustable knife-clip face milling cutter - ALUTANG series, which has a diameter range of 50 - 160 mm. Designed to hold brazed PCD or CBN tips for machining cast iron, hardened steel, aluminum or other non-ferrous metals, these tools are used primarily in the automotive and aerospace industries. It is recommended to use a IB85 or IB55 blade tip to machine grey cast iron; a brazed ID8 tip for bladed composite; and a brazed ID5 or ID8 tip for bladed aluminum. Due to the above-mentioned materials to be processed, high-speed machining is required; the dynamic balance processing of such tools is up to G2.5. At the same time, the tool can be adjusted by adjusting the radial adjustment screws for high-speed machining. The cutter body is made of high-strength aluminum. After special coating treatment, the surface hardness of the cutter body is high, and the phenomenon that the chip adheres to the cutter body can be effectively reduced. The low inertia of the lightweight tool body helps to reduce the spindle load during acceleration and deceleration, which helps to extend the life of the spindle. The inner cold end cap on the front end allows the coolant to be sprayed radially, taking away the chips from the cutting area. It eliminates the need for secondary cutting of the chips and reduces the occurrence of built-up edge phenomena, thereby obtaining a high surface quality to be machined (recommended cooling pressure of at least 20 bar). The axial two-way adjustment can be achieved by adjusting the axial adjustment screw to act on the seat of the fixed blade. The adjustment mechanism can realize the stepless adjustment of the axial precision of the blade. After adjustment, all the blades on the face milling cutter can be controlled to adjust to the 0.002mm tolerance range.
