Designer Mazzoleni and evolutionary biologist Shona: The architectural structure follows the collection of architectural solutions inspired by nature from a variety of animal furs. This is a happy framework, openly acknowledging and bringing inspiration from other disciplines. The commitment to this interdisciplinary research goes beyond analogy to the depth of the design process.
Mazzoleni proposed two: One is inspired by the fur of a polar bear, and the other uses the iridescent insulation properties of the bird feathers. Calling these items "bionic" is problematic because the final result is more of a process of mimicking certain natural phenomena behind than creating a house to metaphorically imitate fur or feathers. The architectural structure has its own structural "biology" that can benefit from the evolution of the billions of years in the natural world where its most sustainable model was conceived.
And this special cooperation between architects and biologists is very unidirectional, the concept of expansion, interdisciplinary representatives must be seen as collaborators, not consultants, in all directions to open the door of the impact.
