Taiwanese media: Chinese robot manufacturers are on the world stage

According to reports, the Chinese robot industry is heating up, leading to a decline in the price of foreign robot products. At the same time, industry data shows that the domestic market share of the Chinese robot industry has expanded from 4% in 2013 to 13% in 2014.

Some foreign robot manufacturers plan to launch the Planar Articulated Robot (SCARA) this year, with a maximum lifting capacity of up to 3 kg. Due to the competitive pressure from Chinese local robot manufacturers, the price has dropped to 50,000 yuan. Yao Zhijun, deputy secretary-general of the China Robotics Industry Alliance, said that such examples are commonplace in the Chinese market and are becoming more common. The rapid growth of China's robot manufacturing industry has already put some pressure on foreign companies.

Qu Daokui, general manager of Xinsong Robot Automation Co., Ltd., said that the manufacturing level of indoor cleaning robots and automatic guided transport vehicles (AGV) in China can now be compared with similar foreign companies. Xinsong Company guarantees that its products will not be used within 2 years, and the error of the automatic guided transport vehicle will not exceed 0.05 mm. It shows that the product has reached the world's leading standard level.

According to Yao Zhiwei, China's existing 400-500 robot manufacturers, the robot industry is rapidly developing. Last year, some companies sold more than 100 million yuan. But in addition to the rapid growth of the industry, Chinese robotics companies still lag behind their foreign competitors, especially in the automotive industry. This shows that Chinese robot manufacturers still have a lot of room for improvement. They need to improve the quality and precision of their products and extend the service life of their products.

Yao Zhijun also said that China's machine manufacturing industry has a lot of possibilities for the smart robot market. It has the opportunity to catch up with foreign companies. For example, the one-armed robot Sawyer launched by Rethink Robotics last year belongs to simple intelligent robots. Qu Daokui also said that because industrial robots are not suitable for the consumer electronics market, we need a simple robot like Sawyer. Experts say that this simple robot is easy to produce and does not require high-precision components, making it easier for Chinese companies to succeed in this area.
