Autumn is the best time for fruit trees to apply base fertilizer, but some fruit farmers apply unfertilized organic fertilizer when applying base fertilizer, causing many hidden dangers. 1. Burn the root system. Most of the farmyard manure comes from animal waste. When these organic fertilizers are not decomposed, their nutrient status is slow-acting and cannot be directly absorbed and utilized by the roots of fruit trees. If it is applied, it will easily generate heat during the underground decomposing process, causing root burns ( commonly known as "burning roots" ). , causing root rot. 2. The nutrient release is not synchronized with the tree body. In the autumn, unfertilized organic fertilizer is applied, and it takes a long time to rot in the ground due to low soil temperature. In the spring of the second year, the tree needs a lot of nutrients, and the nutrients released by the slow-fermented organic fertilizer simply cannot meet the needs of the tree. At the same time, during the decomposing process, the microorganisms also consume some of the original nutrients ( such as nitrogen fertilizer ) in the roots of the fruit trees . In this way, the tree in the spring often shows malnutrition. After entering the summer and autumn, the rainfall increased, the ground temperature rose rapidly, the rate of organic fertilizer decomposed significantly accelerated, and the released organic nutrients increased. This will lead to accelerated growth of the tree body, a large number of strips, poor fruit coloration, excessive vegetative growth, and poor flower bud differentiation ability. Some people have investigated the excavation of orchards that have been applied to raw manure, and found that some of the manure is still in its original state after three years. 3. Invoke pests that are underground for winter. Unfertilized organic fertilizer is an ideal wintering place for many fruit tree pests because it contains a large amount of animal organic matter. It is especially easy to attract chafers ( 蛴螬 ) , peaches, heartworms, scorpion catfishes, pear flower nets, etc. Pest control is extremely unfavorable.
