Class A
Can provide the most complete protection for gases and liquids in the surrounding environment. It is a completely enclosed, chemical-resistant garment, gloves and boots, and an isolated respiratory protection device.
Class B
When toxic gas is not harmful to the skin, it is only used for respiratory protection. Unlike Class A, it includes a non-enclosed, splash-proof, chemical-resistant garment that can provide liquids with Class A protection, but is not sealed.
Grade C
It includes a splash-proof garment, with a full-coverage filter protection.
D level
Limited to work clothes or other work clothes, boots, and gloves attached to underwear.
Sites that are immediately dangerous to life and health (that is, places that are irreparable and irreversible within thirty minutes) and firefighters (or other persons who come to the area) who participate in rescue operations in the heart of a chemical accident. Grade A (asphyxiating or irritating poisons) or Class B (non-volatile toxic solids or liquids) protection requirements must be met, and on-site rescuers for unclear sources must meet Class A requirements.
When a chemical incident occurs, the rescue personnel who first enter the scene are generally police or firefighters. The former (police) are not equipped with anti-chemical personal protective equipment in our country, so their responsibility is to communicate the observed situation to the latter (firefighters). Firefighters routinely use "cut off fire source" or "isolated fire source" devices to prevent fire and increase heat resistance. This method is used to protect hazardous chemicals and can only exert minimal protection; therefore, fire control agencies should Equipped with a certain amount of respiratory protection, it can be used to find and rescue victims on the scene at the fastest speed.
According to the current situation, related departments such as the public security, environmental protection, and sanitation should also be equipped with a certain amount of personal protective equipment in case they need to be investigated and sampled. In the preparation of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, there are anti-chemical warfare units equipped with a large number of individual protective devices and their personnel have all received relevant training.
The duration of protection can be varied depending on the individual's adaptation, level of activity, concentration of toxicants, and route of exposure.
Clinical emergency personnel need to have a Class C personal protection device. In the case of emergency personnel who have treated victims who have been separated from pollution, the amount of toxicants carried by their victims is not sufficient to pose a threat to them. It is also necessary to meet Class C protection standards.
The emergency department or clinics at all levels of hospitals not only receive patients who have been decontaminated at the scene, but also receive patients who themselves have not been decontaminated. Therefore, the hospital emergency department must have a dedicated space for the decontamination of patients suspected of having contaminants. At the same time, it should also be equipped with a small amount of Class B protective clothing.
It should be noted that the canisters for the C-stage protection masks need to be regularly updated, and the over-time canisters do not provide a good protection; each mask has a different protection time, and the type and concentration of poisons. The user's activities are related to the situation, so change it in time.
