In the design of welded structure, different adjacent plate thicknesses are often encountered. According to the requirements of GB985: when the thickness difference of the butt joints of different thicknesses (1~2mm) exceeds the specified, one or two-sided transitional slopes shall be opened on the thick plates. Port, the length of the groove L ≥ 3mm (1 ~ 2mm) as shown in Figure 1. Figure 1 shows the end beam structure of our multi-functional crane unit. The web of the end beam adopts the butt welded structure of δ=30mm and δ=12mm (material Q345). The welding bevel of the 30mm thick end beam head and the 12mm thick web shall be processed into a transition welding groove on the 30mm thick steel plate according to the provisions of GB985. For many years, because the CNC cutting equipment can not cut the welding groove of the steel plate, and the manual/semi-automatic flame cutting is difficult to complete, the machine has been used to process the transition groove, which has the problems of high cost and long production cycle. . After applying the robot cutting technology (see Figure 2), the cutting problem of the transition groove is solved, the manufacturing cost is reduced, the production efficiency is improved, and the surface quality of the cutting is not inferior to the machining.
